We focus on the benefits of proper breathing, stretching, lengthening and extending your total body for optimal oxygenation, maximum blood flow, enhanced circulation and stress relief. We tailor this yoga practice to the individual to make certain that you achieve your own personal goals and most importantly, have fun. We teach Lakshmi Voelker Chair Yoga©, designed for those who have limited mobility, flexibility or are restricted to the confines of a chair either at their office or their home. It is a gentle, non traditional form of yoga exercise, for those who just do not or can not get down on the floor for the practice of mat yoga but desire the same results and benefits while seated.

Traditional Mountain Series movements along with classic yoga moves (asanas) have all been modified to be executed from a seated position while working all of the same muscle groups impacted by floor yoga.

The flow of these movements is gentle and fluid, and you have the ability to sink deeper into the pose you desire while feeling completely balanced and strong. We have even added the use of light weight training to several of our movements to build muscle tone, endurance and minimize the loss of bone mass experienced with aging.

The absolute beauty of this seated yoga practice is once you learn the foundation of these movements, this yoga can be practiced any time of day, any day of the week, in your office chair, in front of your TV, in a wheel chair, a golf cart, or an airplane seat….until your next yoga session. Feel the benefit of the deep breathing techniques before a large corporate presentation or your drive from the first tee box!
